About
WhatsApp is where the business happens. We built the workspace for it.
Hella is made by Shankh Labs: software Indian businesses run on, built in Surat.
Why we built Hella
In India, WhatsApp is not a marketing channel. It is where the business actually happens: the enquiry, the negotiation, the order, the complaint, the repeat customer. And almost everywhere we looked, it was being run off a single phone in somebody's pocket.
That works until it does not. The person is on leave. The thread is invisible to everyone else. The same five questions get answered by hand at eleven at night. The customer who was ready to buy is told to pay somewhere else, and quietly does not.
So we built the workspace that should have existed: a shared inbox with real roles, automation for the repetitive half, and commerce that finishes in the conversation it started in. On the official platform, inside Meta's policies, so the number does not get restricted for cutting corners.
What we hold to
Four things we are not willing to trade away
Play by the platform's rules
Official WhatsApp Business Platform, approved templates, real opt in. Shortcuts here get numbers banned, and it is the customer who loses the channel.
A person is always reachable
Automation should absorb the routine and hand over everything else with its context. A customer who wants a human should get one, not a loop.
Your data stays yours
Conversations, contacts and orders belong to your organisation and are isolated to it. They are not used to train anything for anyone else.
One brain, many channels
Hella does not keep its own copy of your brand or your catalogue. It reads them from Aura, so the two can never drift apart.
Who runs on Hella
Built for teams whose customers message first.
D2C and retail
A catalogue people can browse in chat, orders that become records, and payment collected without sending anyone to a different app.
For example
A jeweller: the Dhanteras enquiry answered from the catalogue, the fitting booked, the deposit paid by UPI, all in one thread.
Services and clinics
Bookings through native in chat forms, reminders that go out on their own, and a shared inbox so the front desk is not one phone.
For example
A skin clinic: a booking form in the chat, a reminder the evening before, and a front desk that can see every conversation.
Agencies
Several client workspaces, each with its own numbers, team and permissions, run without the conversations leaking between them.
For example
Four clients, four numbers, four teams. One login for you, and nobody sees a thread that is not theirs.
B2B and distribution
Orders taken from a known contact list, price lists broadcast to a segment, and a link to the software you already run on.
For example
A distributor: Monday's price list to 400 retailers, orders back by reply, and each one sent straight into the billing software.
The wider system
Hella works on its own, and better with our other two products
Shankh Labs makes three products that share what they know. Aura holds your brand; Hella reads it instead of keeping a second copy. Nexus CMS runs your website and sends its enquiries to Hella.
Aura
Marketing that runs itself, with you in control. Your brand, your catalogue and what sells in your category, turned into campaigns you approve before they go out.
Nexus CMS
A website your own team keeps up to date. Every enquiry it takes can reach your team on WhatsApp through Hella.
Come and tell us what breaks
We would rather have a specific conversation about how you run WhatsApp than send you a brochure.
